The Developmental Disability Mental Health Team (DDMHT) provides support to youth aged 14-18 years old who have a diagnosed developmental and/or intellectual disability and co-existing mental health issues, challenging behaviour and/or problematic substance use.
DDMHT also provides support to adults aged 19 years and over who have a diagnosed intellectual disability and co-existing mental health issue, challenging behaviours and/or problematic substance use.
The multidisciplinary team aims to support caregivers and families to build their capacity to help manage and support individuals safely in the community.

- Non-crisis mental health assessment and consultation
- Treatment planning in collaboration with clients and members of the community support network
- Psychiatric and nursing support with treatment plan implementation
Eligibility requirements
Eligibility is determined by the level of intellectual disability as per the DSM-5 criteria based on deficits in intellectual functioning and deficits in adaptive functioning (core service).

The main office is located in Victoria, with a satellite office in Nanaimo. From these offices, we serve all of Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.
